someone who's doing some things
Music is a huge part of my life so it’s almost certain that this category will have a lot of stuff in it.
Whilst I’m all for Blancmange playing new things, I do of course want to hear some old favourites. There’s nothing wrong with that right?
So I’m hopeful of some classics getting trotted out alongside the new stuff from ‘Semi-Detached’, and also hopefully some bits from ‘Blancburn’ too.
It’ll be an interesting night I’m sure.
Their latest album is great stuff, I’ve been listening to it quite a lot over the last few weeks since it came out. There are some really good tracks on it.
This is an album I’ve been meaning to get my hands on a this album for a long time. So I finally got a copy, and it’s really quite good after all.
I especially like that on the back of the LP cover there’s a credit for computer programming! You don’t see that very often these days.
The first picture is the bC16 being played using a Handera 330 running Theremini. The second picture is using BeatPad.
I’ve been looking forward to this album since the single was released which was really good, and I think it did deliver. It’s a very cinematic album, and I’ve been enjoying that quality a great deal. But overall this album does feel like an instrumental Depeche Mode album. Not that that is a bad thing necessarily. In fact it probably says a lot about how Depeche Mode works more than anything.
Overall I liked it. I think I probably need to listen to it again though. Probably in a bit more depth.
I’ve been listening to this album again after a long time and really enjoying it all over again. Listening to it reminded me just how long it has been since they released an album, and made me wonder when they’d do that again. I realise that as they all get a bit older they’re going to make less new stuff, but I really hope that it’s not over yet.
