someone who's doing some things
I enjoy making things a lot. I don’t get enough time to do it though. When I do make stuff it takes all sorts of different forms, like electronics, fixing stuff (with Sugru etc), using conductive ink, conductive textiles, and the list goes on.
I really liked this post from the ever interesting Concretedog. I absolutely agree with his thoughts on this.I’d probably go further and say that an element of experimentalism in everything is worth attempting.
So, make, experiment, learn stuff, and most of all, have fun doing it.
I’d heard of this stuff before, but I’d never used it. I got this sample from the lovely people at Technology Will Save Us when I went to their talk the other day. The sugru web site has some really good examples of how people have used the stuff.
So the only question remaining is, what should I use it for?
I’ve made one of these before, but I got given another kit at the talk I went to given by Technology Will Save Us. So I guess I’ll make this one and then maybe have a little lumiphone ensemble!
Is it useful? Yes, probably, but maybe not too much for me at the moment, but it is just one of those things I really wanted to have, and it is so cool!
Yep, it’s time to get back to tinkering with an Arduino again. This time I’m hopeful that I’ll actually get something decent going with it. We’ll see how it goes.
Another app for Processing js on iOS. This is a really nice app actually. I put in a little sketch and it ran it like a dream. Also, the editor is very user friendly indeed, which makes a massive difference on an iPhone.
After being a little disappointed by the first Processing app for iOS I found this one, called PR0C0DIN6, which seems to have a lot more possibilities, and the editor is much simpler to use. So I’ll let you know soon how this one works out.
If you want to check it out on the app store it costs £2.99, which I didn’t think is too bad as it’s a universal app.
At least something is going as planned.
