The first story from this box set. It was a much better start than the volume 1 box set, so I was pleasantly surprised to listen to it.

Looking forward to listening to this
It’s no secret, I really like Blake’s 7, so I decided to order the Liberator Chronicles 2. I wasn’t too impressed with volume 1, but there’s a bigger cast for volume 2 so I’m hopeful it’ll be worth it.
Doctor Who: Sands of Life
It’s still a little strange to listen to Mary Tamm’s voice, but this is another excellent fourth doctor story, and it has a truly awesome cast as well. David Warner, and Hayley Atwell, as well as Toby Hadoke who I saw in Edinburgh last year with his one man show.
Doctor Who: The War Against The Laan
I’m looking forward to getting to listen to this soon, the next installment of the new series of the 4th Doctor stories.
A little book store …
A little plug for my (very small) book store. It just has a few things that I like at the moment, but over time I will probably add stuff to it.
Doctor Who: Dark Eyes
I was really looking forward to this box set from the 8th Doctor, and it was well worth the wait in the end. A great story and a bit of a change for Paul McGann’s Doctor too. I enjoyed it.
I’m hoping that there’ll be some more 8th Doctor stories in the not too distant future.
Dr Who, The Auntie Matter
This arrived today, and whilst I’m looking forward to listening to it I also find it sad to think that Mary Tamm isn’t with us any longer. She was fantastic as Romana. A great Dr Who companion.
Doctor Who, the Army of Death
I’ve just finished listening to this McGann story. It’s actually a very good one, and Mary Shelley as a companion is still working well too.
Finished reading “Music in Dreamland”
I’ve never been much of a reader of biographies, but this one really got my attention. Having been a long time fan of Bill Nelson I did know a lot about him and his music, but the book brought it to life (of course he’s still alive so it would).
It was well worth the read and I might even buy his other book.
It’s given me a taste for reading other biographies too, which is handy as I have a real backlog of books to read.
The Unknown Public
I found all my copies of the Unknown Public today. I’d forgotten about them for the most part, so I may decide to re-listen to the entire collection from January.
I wish that the Unknown Public hadn’t finished. It was such a good idea. It was meant to be a quarterly publication about new music. I don’t think it ever managed to be quarterly. At best you might see 2 a year published. It started in the 1990’s and is long gone now although the website still exists. As far as I can see it hasn’t been updated in a long time now, but never mind. The editions I have are still lovely.
