Punchdrunk, part 1.

Originally I wanted to release Punchdrunk as a collection of 60 1 minute songs which described a single fictitious day in a person’s life. However, I’ve never finished all the songs. So I’ve decided to release it in a series of batches.

The first batch is 20 instrumental tracks, which would have been the first 20 songs on the whole album.

After this I’ll release another two batches of instrumentals and then finally a collection of the actual songs that I did finish.

Enjoying making …

Making things is a load of fun, whether it’s TouchOSC templates, arduino stuff, or synth kits. I’m glad to be getting back to it again after what has seemed to be a long time.

Amplified Gesture

As a long time fan of David Sylvian I’m intrigued to find out what this film’s like. I did see a film of his about the release of Manafon. I saw that at the ICA in London. It was quite exciting really. As far as I’m aware there was no such event for this film. A shame really.

Still buying vinyl

There are a handful of tracks that are on a list, the kind of list you know somehow you’ll never get to the end of. For me it’s a list of tracks I had once and now I’ve no idea where they are, so I have to get them again. This EP from Toyah is one. It has a track on it called Urban Tribesman, which I really loved, but it just doesn’t seem to be available on download or on a CD anywhere.

So I decided that with this, and with many other tracks that I’m outstanding, I will have to get them on vinyl. You know what, it’s quite nice to be buying vinyl again.

Pebble is shipping …

It’s great news. It couldn’t be soon enough. I know that they’ll take a while to get them out to everyone, and that I shouldn’t expect it too soon, but it’s exciting nonetheless. Of course, the one thing that is missing at the moment is the iPhone app on the app store.

I hope that it gets here before my pebble does.

Doctor Who and the invasion of the dinosaurs

I only got this because it was part of a boxed set with the Android Invasion. The special effects are very far from special, but the story was excellent. Sadly it makes me wonder about collecting Jon Pertwee stories now!
