Disappointing … Corpse Marker

I had really high hopes for this story, but sadly it has been a massive disappointment. It felt confused and overly complicated and in many ways somehow detached from the main characters of the Doctor and Leela, almost as if they had changed significantly since the original story. It lacked a sense of humour and any warmth to it.

I found myself really not caring about what happened, and in an 8 hour story that’s not good. I did finish listening to it, but I can’t in anyway recommend it sadly.

Can’t help but notice all the Apple Watch apps

It seems that every app update now has something to do with the Apple Watch. There are going to be so many apps that extend to it soon.

It makes me start to wonder about my decision to go for a pebble time. Of course it’s too late to go back on that but it is nagging at me. I still think that the Apple Watch is too fat and I’m sure that within a couple of years there’ll be one much better and much thinner too. My money is on it being called the Apple Watch Air! Who knows.

Zen, the BBC drama, not the computer from The Liberator

I recently watched this mini series again and was struck by just how excellent a series it was. There were only three episodes, each of them of almost feature length, but the BBC could have kept it going, it was brilliant, really brilliant, and a real shame that it stopped.

Of course it isn’t the first time that the BBC have made a brilliant drama and then given up on it before it’s had a real chance to get established. They did this with Outcasts, a science fiction series that had potential which was of course, unrealised. I wish they’d get it together and understand that some shows take a little while to get going and establish themselves. They shouldn’t give up so soon. Zen would have been excellent in a second series. Of course it’s too late now, which is such a shame.

Getting to grips with chromecast

I only got a Chromecast to try out a particular streaming service to get a specific show, and, that didn’t actually work out, which was a shame. However, the upside was that I’ve found the Chromecast itself really useful. Using it with my Nexus Android tablet has been really handy. I found that I got a load of really good offers which have almost paid for the device, and, talking to a colleague who’s already got a Chromecast, apparently the offers get refreshed, so I’m looking forward to getting more.

So it’s had a double upside, it’s been useful itself, and it’s showed another use for my Nexus which I’ve always sort of struggled to find a proper use for.
